Stacia Mood Lamp — Emoji to Light

A smart lamp that turns emojis into ambient light. The Stacia Mood Lamp connects to an iOS app, letting moods be shared wordlessly through color.

1. The Starting Point

It began as a joke about Stacia’s unpredictable moods — and turned into an idea for a non-verbal way to share them at home. We wondered: what if an emoji could instantly transform into light?

2. What We Built

The lamp is controlled by a simple iOS app. Select an emoji, and the lamp glows in the matching color.

It’s playful, a little absurd, and surprisingly useful.

3. How It Works

Hardware: ESP microcontroller + RGB LED strip
Connectivity: Bluetooth and Wi-Fi
Frontend: iOS app built in Swift
Body: 3D-printed custom enclosure

4. Status

The lamp is fully functional and lives at home. The only thing missing: a sturdier 3D-printed body to replace the first prototype.
