Apassar — Live Bus Tracker

A personal bus tracker we built for Porto, before Google and Moovit launched local solutions. Simple, fast, and made for our own commute.
1. The Starting Point
Our bus stop had no schedule posted during construction, and the official site was outdated. Some days the bus came in two minutes, others in forty. We wondered: could we make our own live tracker just for the line we used every day?
2. What We Built
Apassar was a dedicated mobile app with:

A live map of a specific bus line

Predicted arrival times based on parsed public data

A custom API that transformed raw schedules into accurate, usable information
At first it was a simple internal tool for our daily use. Later, we developed a brand identity and professional UX design in Figma — keeping the simplicity, but giving it the clarity and polish of a finished product.

4. Status
Apassar was used daily until Google and Moovit introduced local bus tracking. Once global solutions became reliable, our prototype was retired.
